SoundFront is a privately maintained, confidential recordkeeping system created by musicians for documented gig issues—cancellations, pay changes, delayed/withheld payment, repeat cost-shifting, etc. We assign case IDs, track outcomes, and (when appropriate) offer a neutral correction pathway. Most reports stay private, and identity is never shared unless you explicitly choose otherwise.

SoundFront focuses on patterns and outcomes, not drama. Reports are reviewed for documentation before they are recorded as verified, and we do not publish accusations without support.

How It Works

Submit a confidential report about a dispute or incident you've experienced (short pay, canceled gigs, unsafe performing conditions, etc.)
We confirm the basic information in your report
If we need additional documentation, we will email you to request
We will log your report with a case ID
SoundFront will pursue appropriate correction pathways (you may also file a report without a desired outcome if you would just like the incident on record for pattern identification purposes)

Q: Does this cost money?

A: No. SoundFront is always free to use.

Q: Do I have to go public?

A: No. Most reports stay private. You decide what’s shared.

Q: Why Is your website so simple?

A: Because we're not marketing anything. We're not selling you anything. No splashy graphics, no slick transitions or over-produced videos. Just straightforward, no-BS documentation to help keep Music City fair and accountable for its performers.

Q: What information do you collect?

A: Your email for follow-up, plus the details you choose to provide.

Q: What documentation do I need?

A: Anything in writing—texts, emails, screenshots. If you don’t have it yet, we’ll tell you what to save going forward.

Q: Is this a union replacement?

A: No. SoundFront is separate and can be used regardless of union status.

Q: Will venues see my name?

A: Not from your intake. Identity is kept private unless you explicitly choose otherwise.
